Anti Justin Beiber plugin for Firefox generates angry responses!
Justin Bieber fans are a truly passionalte bunch. Should I be worried about my Justin Beiber post yesterday? Bieberettes or Beliebers are a force to be reconed with. The Toronto developer I wrote about yesterday who developed a piece of software called ‘Shaved Bieber’ that censored Justin Beiber from your internet is now receiving death threats.
Alex fromSwitzerland, an irate 15-year-old girl, even went so far as to compare him to Hitler:
“I just wanted to give you the heads up that you will have MANY people that are enraged with you. I’m talking 5,000,000. Me included,”
“I realize that you’re just stating an opinion, but what you’re doing is going back to World War II all over again. Hitler wanting to erase Jews from society — you want to erase Justin Bieber…”
Mmmmm extreme indeed.
Greg Leuch said he invented ‘Shaved Bieber,’ an add-on to the Firefox browser, with the help of Free Art and Technology Lab after he read complaints of so-called “Bieber fever” online he says his friends begged him to do it:
“Dude, you have to do something so I can quit seeing Justin Bieber online,’”
“I was like, ‘Damn, I can do this.’”
It took him all of 6 hours.
One Belieber used her Twitter account to tweet the horror of having the Internet without Justin Bieber after her parents downloaded the program.”
“Mum put that shaved bieber thing on all our computers! I’m like crying, I hate u sooo much mum.”
Leuch is also working on other ‘Shaved’ software after receiving requests to block Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
