Integrated business services company Communisis, an OSG company, has modernised its HR and payroll processes in partnership with industry experts MHR.

The communications and marketing outsourcing group has gone live with MHR’s market leading cloud based iTrent system, supported by a fully managed payroll service, as part of a project to simplify the management of its people and improve the user experience.

The transition to iTrent enables Communisis to streamline the management of its 2100 employees with all people management information, including HR, payroll and absence management, and reports administered from a single system.

The integration and automation of key administrative tasks will reduce the amount of paperwork involved, while improved data accuracy will enforce their compliance to employment and data protection legislation.

Meanwhile, user-friendly and intuitive dashboards will enable users to gain a clear picture of its people and quickly access critical information to support key organisational decisions.

As part of the project Communisis has also embraced iTrent’s self-service functionality, providing both employees and managers with the convenience to access the system via mobile access. This will enable managers to carry out administration duties on the go while employees will be able to submit timesheets, book holidays as well as view payslips and P60s.

Andrew Neal, HR Director at Communisis says: “We have opted for a single database solution and are delighted to partner with an experienced provider in MHR with a proven track record of delivering reliable software solutions.

“A key driver was our desire to improve the simplicity of our processes and enhance the user experience.

“iTrent will provide us with a single data source and digital processes which will help to accelerate many tasks and eliminate paperwork.

“The new system will reduce administration for our managers and simplify the process compared to previous methods, which involved a large amount of dual input and left us exposed to the risk of errors.”

Anton Roe, CEO at MHR comments: “We are delighted to support Communisis as it looks to simplify the management of its people on a single system.

“Consolidating critical data in a central system creates a single point of access to information, enabling Communisis to gain greater visibility of its people and streamline routine tasks by removing the need for data duplication.

“The intuitive interface and employee-focused functionality of iTrent will support widespread adoption of the system and add value to the working time of its users, empowering them to work smarter and perform their day-to-day tasks more efficiently with immediate access to the data they need.”
