Education technology experts RM Education have appointed two heavyweight business leaders to ensure the company’s continued growth and development within the EdTech sector. In January 2019 Jeremy Cooper was appointed as RM Education’s new Managing Director, joining the company from the international EdTech company Blackboard. At the same time, Simon Carter joined RM Education as Marketing and Propositions Director, having previously worked in senior marketing roles at organisations including Fujitsu, Thomas Cook and the Post Office.

RM Education help schools save time, save money and improve the impact of technology on teaching and learning. They are a market-leading supplier of software and services, working in partnership with thousands of schools to improve outcomes for all learners. These two high-profile appointments reflect RM’s commitment to the education sector – building its leadership team to ensure outstanding service to its customers and continued growth.

Jeremy Cooper is an experienced director with significant experience in board level positions in the educational sector. He has worked in the US and UK, and most recently he was VP Europe for Blackboard – the educational technology company headquartered in Washington DC. Prior to this he spent a number of years with Hobsons plc – most recently as Managing Director UK and Europe and Head of International. In this role he headed up their International Admissions and Advising business, focusing on growing Hobsons outside of the US market in established and emerging markets.

Simon Carter is a renowned marketing authority having managed high-profile brands in a variety of sectors, from technology to travel, for both clients and agencies where he has held senior marketing and commercial roles. For seven years Simon was VP and Head of Field Marketing across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa for Fujitsu, and has held leadership positions with Thomas Cook, the Post Office, Virgin, EdF Energy and NatWest Bank.

Jeremy Cooper comments: “This is an incredibly exciting time for RM. EdTech is central to ensuring the best possible outcomes for learners, and education providers want dependable, top-class and easy-to-use technology to facilitate this. Building on our 40-year heritage RM is now entering a new era developing new products and solutions to help even more schools and institutions.”

Simon Carter said: “I am delighted to be joining RM Education at this exciting time, and the education agenda has never been more important. I believe that my experience working with some of the UK’s major brands will help me better articulate the amazing capabilities that RM Education has to help education leaders meet today’s challenges – from getting more from stretched budgets, to using technology to relinquish the workloads of teachers, all while keeping pupils safe.”

David Brooks, CEO of RM plc comments; “I am delighted to welcome Jeremy as Managing Director and Simon as Marketing and Propositions Director for our RM Education business. They both bring great track records of growing businesses as a result of delivering compelling products and services to customers. 2019 is set to be a strong year as RM Education continues to demonstrate its commitment to making technology a key enabler in the education sector.”
