The TechWomen100 Awards are organised by WeAreTechWomen, part of WeAreTheCity, a free centralised hub for professional women who want to progress their careers, enhance their skills and build their external networks.
After successfully launching TechWomen50 in 2017, WeAreTechWomen launched the TechWomen100 Awards 2018 to recognise the achievements of 100 women in tech in 2018. They also award a Champion of the Year, a Company of the Year and a Network of the Year.
Nicky Dunderdale, Director of Digital at Psyon says, “We are really proud to win this prestigious award. Psyon is a growing tech business with big ambitions. We wholeheartedly believe that women play an essential part in our ongoing and future success.
“From grass roots through to the leadership of our business, we are fully committed to nurturing and developing a pipeline of female talent and to providing an inclusive and collaborative culture where women can thrive”
Psyon has partnered with other major organisations to take action to increase the number of females taking up technology roles in the UK. They have signed up to the ‘Tech We Can Charter’ - an initiative launched by PwC last February that encourages the industry to work together to reach out to more young females across the UK to inspire them to pursue technology careers.
Nicky Dunderdale has recently joined its Improving Education workstream, working with other women to give schools support and tools to encourage young women into careers in STEM.
Nicky adds, “Women can offer the technology industry unbounded skills and untapped potential. They bring balance and a different sense of perspective. Technology is used by us all in all aspects of our daily lives – men and women alike – so women’s ideas and needs should be reflected in its development.”
